We are glad to share that MSC USA has launched a new digital solution allowing USA customers to submit their Demurrage, Detention and Per Diem disputes online. Please note, the Per Diem Billing department has up to 60 days from the return date to bill the per diem to the trucker. MSC is unable to quote per diem charges prior to final billing. Please allow the Billing Team to complete the auditing process.

Important Note:

11/21/2024

Houston trucking community, if your 20DV/40DV/40HC empty is on a DCLI chassis, it MUST return to the UPRR Settegast. If unit is on a NON-DCLI chassis, please return your empty to the terminal accepting per below. 

IMPORTANT:  If you’ve received a notification to return your 20DV/40DV/40HC empty to the RAIL and attempt to return to one of our terminals it will be rejected, MSC will NOT be responsible for any charges incurred.


**Before returning your empty, please submit your empty rail bill request to US038-gulfwestmtyrb@msc.com **

•	When returning damaged empties, please ensure to explicitly inform Bayport terminal of their condition
•	Bayport Terminal will be open to receive 40’HR empties at 12:00pm (noon)
•	Bayport Terminal will be open to receive and release 40’HC empties at 3:00pm
•	C&C Depot closes daily at 3:00PM



-If empty billing has been issued and container is instead used for export or returned to our depot empty, it is  requirement that the empty billing must be cancelled. Failure to comply is a violation of federal safety laws and violators will be subject to exorbitant fees.

-All zip ties must be removed prior to the return of empties and loaded containers to the rail.

-"IMPORTANT - some containers may be ineligible to return to the ports - if returning a container to the port please check the container in the terminal system to ensure there is not an ingate hold on the container prior to dispatching. If there is an ingate hold, please contact MSC for return instructions."   @    USA-equipment.team@msc.com
